This paper art has experienced a resurgence in popularity during the last few years. You can find paper quilling incorporated into scrapbooking, card making, monograms, paper flowers, jewelry, wall art and even advertisements. It is incredible how you can make complicated shapes and patterns from simple paper strips and glue! This is an introductory class to paper quilling. We will be making various scrolls and rolls. Getting ourselves familiar with rolling strips of paper, releasing them and pinching them into shapes. These shapes will be turned into flowers, leaves or other desired shapes. You will design your work in a 5” x 7” shadow box. Students will get to choose a choice of 2 designs, flowers in a box or a tree. These 2 are popular designs at my craft shows. These 2 projects are curated based on your comfort level, what you can achieve within the time frame of the class. Each student will be given a customized quilling kit that I’ve put together. You will get a 5x7 shadow box and maybe a card or two, time permitting. Paper of various colors is also provided, some pre-cut and some we will cut ourselves.
