AcA Grant Panelist Nomination Form

Gig
We're always on the look out for members of our community to serve on application review panels that assist in determining the outcomes for our arts grant funding programs. WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE ARE WE LOOKING FOR? - We're looking for people who have a keen interest across artistic disciplines. Disciplines range from visual art, performing arts to fashion and literary arts, etc. As someone who is interested in the arts, this could mean that you are an artist yourself (all levels) or someone who appreciates art. - We're looking for people who can evaluate an application to determine it meets all requirements outlined in the provided guidelines. - We're looking for people who can see the benefit of a project or organization and what it provides to the individual artist and/or broader community. If you're an artist, we encourage you to participate as a panel member, as this is a good way to see how other applicants interpret the requirements of an application and exactly how the panel discussions are determined. WHAT TO EXPECT AS A PANEL MEMBER First you will be expected to attend a ~1 hour training session to learn about what is expected of you as a panelist. Then you should expect to read somewhere between 10-15 applications (we find it takes roughly 30 mins to read each application) and think about whether the application is meeting the guidelines. You will have about 2 weeks to complete this part. You will then be expected to attend a panel meeting (with other panelists) to discuss each application individually, to determine which applications should be funded. This is generally done over 4 hours. WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF THIS? We value your community service and offer grant panelists an Insiders Membership (valued at up to $250) that offers access to early bird tickets, members only receptions, discounts on tickets and summer camps, complimentary beverage tickets, and more! DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU (or someone you would like to nominate)? Please fill in the form. If you have further questions about whether you (or someone you know) would be suitable, please reach out to Gwen Richard, Community Development Director at Gwen@AcadianaCenterfortheArts.org, at Anna Kojevnikov, Community Development Manager on Anna@AcadianaCenterfortheArts.org.
