Hello y'all, Anita and Bar are thrilled to announce an open call for a group exhibition of selected and curated artworks at the Mr. Kills gallery on January 18, 2025 (248 Mckibbin St, 11206 Brooklyn, NY). This exhibition will explore the concept of the body through deconstructing and reconstructing it. The collective piece that we’re intended to build is a Massive Exquisite Corpse that will stand approximately 5 meters tall (16 feet), composed of the body parts submitted by the artists. If you wish to participate in building the Massive Exquisite Corpse please submit up to 3 artworks that represent some body parts of your choice. Any size and media is welcome (drawing, painting, sculpture that can be hung on a wall, photography, video). Ensure that each piece you submit focuses on one specific body part; so you can create multiple artworks as long as each part stands alone (example, you submit 3 hands and each hand is in its own piece). Along with the Massive Exquisite Corpse we will also curate a selection of works that will talk about our relationship with the body or what the body itself represents to us. This is an optional second submission – send us one fully realized artwork that deals with your interpretation of flesh. Additionally, we are open to proposals for live performances that need to align with the exhibition's theme, engage with the body and ideally involve audience interaction. We would appreciate a prompt response about your desire to be involved in this show, as we might be initiating new works from you and recognize that images may not be available right away, we would like to know the number of artists participating and an estimate of how many body parts each artist will contribute. The Images and official participation submission deadline is January 2, at 11:00 PM (ET) For any question contact Anita anitasto@me.com or Bar admonitbar@gmail.com Peace out!
